TROT STAFF
Leslie Esselburn, Executive Director:
I joined TROT in October, 2000. My background in non-profit
management was a great fit when TROT advertised for its first Executive Director in the fall of 2000. My husband, Ed
and I had just relocated to Tucson to enjoy retirement, but the TROT Job Description was too good a match for me
to ignore. As Executive Director, I guide the TROT organization, supervise the staff, write grants and proposals for
funding, seek publicity and advance community awareness, manage the organization budget, and direct the TROT fundraising events. I
am TROT's voice in the community and speak often to the media, civic organizations, and supporters. "TROT is the
most feel good place I've ever been!" e-mail: leslietrot@juno.com
Carolyn Ohrel, Administrative
Assistant
Growing up in Alabama, horses were the focal point of my life, including pony club and eventing. I migrated to Arizona
for college and later worked as a sign language interpreter, paralegal, and fitness coach before finally finding my dream
job at TROT where my passion truly lies. e-mail: trotarizona@aol.com

Amy Charlton, Bookeeper
I am a native Tucsonan. I stated at TROT in 1998 as the Office Manager, then in 2005 went to part time and currently
work off site as TROT's bookkeeper. I believe in the mission at TROT and the work it does and that is why I volunteer as much
time as possible this wonderful organization.
Mary Sanders, Volunteer
Recruiter
My background
in special education, a love of horses, and a son who participates at TROT with his goup riding lessons, make me uniquely
able to encourage current volunteers and recruit new volunteers to join the exciting work at TROT. With many opportunities
to speak about TROT to community groups, schools, and volunteer organizations, I am working to make sure that our volunteers
are the best trained and the most appreciated - they are a valuable and integral part of TROT's success - and the heart of
our program.

Jen Min, Grant
Writer
I
will be writing grants to help secure funds that will help us continue to provide services to our riders. I
am already familiar with TROT's programs because I used to volunteer as a side walker and horse handler. I've always worked
in non-profit organizations, doing everything from advocacy and volunteer management
to Spanish-English interpretation. My grant-writing experience was with an orphanage in Guatemala, where
I lived and worked for two years. So I feel right at home at TROT and am truly blessed to work
alongside such
..........................a great staff. My
